You may have heard that for acupuncture to be effective, one must first “get qi.” Qi refers to the vital energy that flows through the body—much like wind in nature. Sometimes it’s a forceful, cleansing typhoon; other times, it’s a gentle breeze that stirs still waters. Living in the peaceful environment of Canada, I’ve found that people’s bodies tend to become more sensitive. Over time, nestled between mountains and sea, I’ve developed a style of acupuncture that is gentle and refined—inviting a soft breeze to awaken the body’s self-healing ability.
In addition to the classical meridian points, I also integrate specialized systems such as Tung’s Extraordinary Acupuncture System (TEAS) & CYSA scalp acupuncture. When appropriate, I complement treatments with aromatherapy. My acupuncture techniques can be bold or subtle, depending on the patient’s needs. Many of my patients were once afraid of acupuncture or had never tried it before. Through a gentle, step-by-step approach, they’ve come to experience its benefits comfortably.
Acupuncture can influence the fascia, muscles, and even skeletal alignment. In my clinical experience, pain is often just the surface symptom; to truly heal, we must identify the deeper structural imbalances. Therefore, my treatments include thorough palpation to assess muscular and skeletal alignment and to locate the root of the issue.
